Hi All,
Though the newsletter has been quiet (again 🙂), I haven't been idle. I've been putting together a new home for my writing: traviswright.blog.
The site currently has 120+ entries you're welcome to explore — including a number of newly published posts:
The longer path is the faster path
Why the optimal path is bendier than we realize.Join a cat for sunrise
A lesson about reconnecting with the now.How to get unstuck
A mental model for generating change. On being early
Why being early is more difficult than it seems.Products are a three-way parlay
The three things all successful products get right.Intelligence = Error Correction
A minimalist definition of intelligence.Moving pianos
A story about the art of anything.Allegory is the way
On reading spiritual texts allegorically rather than literally. On investing
Some brief thoughts and resources for managing and investing capital.
I hope you enjoy the new posts. Please feel free to leave a comment on the site with any thoughts or feedback. I’d love to hear from you.
A bit more about the site
Perfectionism is a complex code to crack.
A few years ago, I found a method that enabled me to write more easily, but I hadn't quite solved the sharing part. I started this newsletter as an experiment to try and figure out the latter.
The new site paired with the newsletter fits my creative workflow better, as I tend to write irregularly and publish new work in batches. The site also provides a better reading experience and organization.
Future editions of this newsletter will return to a combination of the original bulleted format and/or notifications for new posts.
Lastly, you'll notice each entry has two dates, often years apart. This is because I write for the top of the pile, put it away long enough to forget about it, then review/edit/share from the bottom.
Published = the date the original idea or rough draft was written.
Last Updated = the date it was edited and uploaded to the site and/or last revised.
The posts on the site are ordered by the published date. I find it interesting to look back on what I was thinking about at a particular time.
Until next time,
Travis / @wrightology
P.S. — If you know someone who would enjoy being in the loop, please feel free to spread the word by sharing this email or this page.Â
