Hi all,
After a long hiatus, I wanted to check in.
If we haven’t connected recently, are you OK? (I’m really asking)
Having spent the majority of 2019 relocating from San Francisco to Sacramento and restoring a 1920’s home, my intention going into 2020 was to reconnect with projects like this. Given the intense uncertainty of the moment we’re faced with, it’s my hope that these notes provide a small respite as we collectively search for a path forward.
Without further ado…

Current Status
Pressing pause
Jess and I are entering Week 3 of quarantine here at the house (we’re healthy, just opting to be super cautious given it’s common for people our age to be carriers while being asymptomatic).
After 10 years of non-stop motion, having to suddenly adapt to a life defined by stillness hasn't come without withdrawals. But in this stillness, I’ve also been reminded that my inner creative voice is softly spoken and often drowned out by the fray. And so it’s from this pandemic-induced pause, that space for my voice (and these notes), has emerged. And for that and all of you, I’m grateful.

From the web
Covid-19 has exposed our financial fragility
Having spent the past couple years digging into many of the economic areas currently coming to light, this article is by far the best summary I’ve read yet of the structural issues that are in play.

From my camera roll
I’ve been posting a fair amount on Instagram the past year or so. Here’s my most recent shot during our last trip before The Pause.
Until next time,
